This small tool converts between VGPs and directions for a particular site location. Only enter one of the two (VGPs / Directions) boxes, the tool will dictate the other.
Usage:
- Fill in a site latitude and longitude in decimal degrees (N lines). A single line input forces all transformations to that site.
- Insert a list of declination, inclination (latitude, longitude) pairs in the appropriate textbox (equal to N lines; above). Each data pair must be entered on a new line. Data may be copied from Excel.
- Click the calculate VGP or DIR, and the tool will fill in the empty box above the button.
- Calculate the paleolatitude yourself if required (Tauxe, 2.12).
